Tell us your full name and nickname that your family and friends love to call you by?
Deborah Mutheu: My name is Deborah Mutheu, and most of my family and close friends call me Debbie.

What field are you in professionally?
Deborah Mutheu: I am a pharmacist, digital creator, and wellness advocate. My work sits at the intersection of healthcare, beauty, lifestyle, and education, allowing me to share evidence-based health information while also inspiring people to live healthier, more intentional lives.
How long have you been working in this field?
Deborah Mutheu: I have been working in healthcare since completing my pharmacy degree in 2024, while simultaneously building a career as a content creator. It has been incredibly rewarding to combine my professional expertise with my passion for storytelling and community building.
Please describe yourself in a few words.
Deborah Mutheu: Purpose-driven, creative, compassionate, ambitious, curious, and optimistic.
Can you share a little about your journey and what inspired you to pursue your career and passion?
Deborah Mutheu: My journey has always been rooted in a desire to help people. Growing up, I was fascinated by science and the impact healthcare professionals have on people’s lives. That curiosity led me to pursue pharmacy, where I discovered not only a love for medicine but also a passion for educating others.
Along the way, I realized that information becomes much more powerful when it’s accessible and relatable. That’s what inspired me to begin creating content. I wanted to bridge the gap between healthcare and everyday life by sharing wellness tips, beauty insights, lifestyle experiences, and evidence-based health information in a way that people could genuinely connect with.
Today, I feel fortunate to combine both passions, healthcare and content creation, to inform, inspire, and empower others.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced on your path, and how did you overcome them?
Deborah Mutheu: One of the biggest challenges has been balancing multiple roles and identities. Healthcare is demanding, and building a personal brand requires consistency, creativity, and resilience.
There were moments when I questioned whether I could successfully pursue both careers at the same time. However, I learned the importance of patience, discipline, and giving myself permission to grow at my own pace.
I’ve also learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. Every opportunity, rejection, lesson, and setback has contributed to who I am today. Rather than seeing challenges as roadblocks, I’ve learned to view them as opportunities for growth and refinement.
How do you prioritize self-care and wellness while balancing a demanding career and personal life?
Deborah Mutheu: I’ve learned that self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. For me, wellness starts with the basics: getting enough rest, staying active, nourishing my body, and creating moments of stillness throughout the day.
I also prioritize boundaries. As someone who works in both healthcare and content creation, it’s easy to constantly be “on.” I’ve become intentional about protecting my time, spending quality moments with loved ones, and making space for hobbies and activities that bring me joy.
Most importantly, I listen to my body. Rest is productive too, and I’ve learned that taking care of myself allows me to show up better in every area of my life.
What does beauty mean to you, and how has your relationship with it evolved over the years?
Deborah Mutheu: Beauty, to me, is confidence, authenticity, and self-expression. When I was younger, I probably viewed beauty more through the lens of appearance. As I’ve grown, I’ve come to understand that true beauty starts from within.
It’s reflected in how you carry yourself, how you treat others, and how comfortable you are in your own skin. My relationship with beauty has evolved from seeking perfection to embracing individuality.
Today, I see beauty as an extension of wellness. Taking care of your skin, body, and mind isn’t about meeting a certain standard, it’s about honoring yourself and feeling your best.

What advice would you give to young women who are trying to find their confidence or pursue their dreams?
Deborah Mutheu: Believe in yourself before the world gives you permission to. Start before you’re ready and keep going. I always say, “Today could be the day it all works out, keep going.”
Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Focus on your own journey, stay consistent, and trust the process. There will always be people who doubt you, but your belief in yourself matters most.
Never underestimate the power of education, hard work, and resilience. The combination of preparation and persistence can open doors you never imagined possible.
What are your go-to skincare tips or products that you swear by for keeping your skin glowing and healthy?
Deborah Mutheu: My skincare philosophy is simple: consistency over complexity.
Some of my non-negotiables include daily sunscreen regardless of the weather, gentle cleansing to maintain a healthy skin barrier, and staying hydrated through both skincare and drinking enough water. I’m definitely biased toward the CeraVe range.
As a pharmacist, I also encourage people to focus on products that are backed by science and suited to their skin type rather than chasing every trend. Healthy skin is usually the result of consistent habits.
What’s next for you? Are there any projects, goals, or dreams you’re excited about and working towards?
Deborah Mutheu: I’m excited about continuing to grow my platform and create meaningful content that educates, inspires, and empowers people to live healthier lives.
I’m also passionate about expanding my impact within healthcare, wellness, and beauty by collaborating with brands and organizations that align with my values. Long-term, I hope to continue building a trusted voice in health communication while creating opportunities that allow me to reach and serve even more people.
At the heart of everything I do is the desire to make a positive difference, and that’s a mission I’m incredibly excited to keep pursuing.
